The Evolution of The Promotional Keyring From 1950 Until Now

Many company’s and businesses use promotional keyrings as a part of their promotional campaigns to make more people aware of the services the company offers.

It wasn’t until the 1950s and 1960s when plastic manufacturing techniques were improved that key rings could become more unique. After the improvements were made businesses could place their names on promotional key rings to advertise their businesses (*).

Now-a-days, promotional key rings can do much more than just advertise a company’s name in a simple font. Of course promotional key rings can still be branded with a company’s name, logo or promotional message so anyone who pick’s one up will be able to recognise which company the key ring is from.

However another advantage promotional key rings uphold today, is that they are very affordable; this means you can invest in lots of them, so many can be handed out at a promotional event, increasing the likelihood of being seen. The third advantage promotional key rings have, that wouldn’t necessarily have been possible in the olden days, is that they can be formed into a number of different shapes. This means a company can go that extra mile by customising their promotional key rings shape to suit their clientele and encourage more potential customer to pick on up.

Finally promotional key rings can now be screen printed, embossed or laser engraved enabling a company to add a special promotional message for their potential clients. When you put all these benefits together, you have the perfect promotional gift potentially hanging from keys all over the country, advertising your company and services.

The most common trades to be seen using promotional key rings within their promotional campaigns are trades that require a key, i.e. motor sports, car sales men, and estate agents. The promotional key ring is usually taken by customers so they can keep all there keys together, providing a small convenience for the client but a big advertising platform for the company.

A promotional key ring doesn’t have to be boring anymore as there are many different types of promotional key rings available from; bottle opener key rings, to leather key fobs, to LED and touch key rings and to finally metal key rings. Any of these promotional key rings would make an excellent advertising platform for you company and would enable potential clients to easily access the contact information of the company.
