Weddings are one of the most looked forward to ceremonies in human nature, so why aren't there more promotional gifts? There may be some tears from the mothers of the couple but weddings are said to be one of the most enjoyed ceremonies we have. It is a celebration of love. A wedding is a ceremony which includes two people making a legal contract and social union together.
Many people in the UK marry for emotional reasons, but this can be different depending on the person's culture or religion. Traditionally the bride wears white, this tradition goes back centuries. White is the colour of innocence, happiness and purity. With the bride in white, this represents her giving herself to her husband.

Allegedly, the main month to wed was in June, as in the middle ages, May was the month to have your yearly bath. The bouquet was introduced for the bride and bridesmaids to cover the odour. Interestingly they say, the ring is put on the 4th finger on the left hand, because many people in historic times believed the vein in this finger leads, or points, to that person's heart, it was known as the 'Vena Amori' or commonly referred to as the 'Vein of love'.
