The term 'Black Friday' Originated in the US stock market, when 2 traders tried to speculatively buy gold, cornering the commodity on the stock exchange. The government stepped in to correct this, flooding the markets with more gold.
This made the price of gold to fall rapidly and meant many traders lost a fortune!
