The annual Spring clean is coming up, and whilst you’re thinking about throwing out all of the silly things you’ve been hoarding over the past year, you can’t forget that your business could always do with a little tidy up… it just involves a little less elbow grease! It’s not too early to start thinking about Spring; once the first quarter of the year is over, it provides the ultimate time to reflect upon the state of your business to ensure you head into the warmer months stronger. We’ve put together some ideas of how you can de-clutter your business and keep your company moving forward.
Tidy Up Your Website
Now we’re in 2017, there is no excuse for out-of-date websites and frowned upon Google practices, such as not being mobile-friendly! However, if you’re on the ball and your website is up to date, perhaps this Spring will be the perfect time to plan a little tidying up. For instance, you may want to redesign the way the information on your website is presented so that it’s easier for users to read, ultimately leading to a cleaner looking page. You could do this by adding more links throughout the website instead of having all of the information on the homepage.
Update Social Channels
When you step back and take a look at your company’s online presence, what do you think? Does it look smart and reflect your business? If not, it’s time for a quick tidy up. Ensure that all of the things you are writing on your social media profiles reflect your target market and make sure that your brand is being represented as successfully as possible. Moreover, think about if you have enough social media channels. The basic ones you should really be ticking off the list are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and perhaps Instagram if you have a very visual brand.
Cleanse Your Inbox
It is estimated that 247 million emails are sent every single day. A lot of us can be getting loads of emails per day, therefore Spring is the perfect time to deep-clean your inbox. Sort everything into folders and get rid of all the junk mail. It may take a while but you will feel much more free after it’s done. After all, when you’ve got lots of unread emails piled up, it can become such a nuisance that it hinders your ability to be productive.
These are a few starting steps to think about when it comes to your annual Spring clean! All of these are worthwhile to ensuring you maximise the potential of your business and to make sure your company is running smoothly into the next quarter of the year.
