Promotional Products for Freshers

If you have been to University this Summer then it's likely you'll have heard all about freshers week, so why not use promotional products to promote your business?

Freshers Week is one of the most important weeks in the student calendar as it's filled with fun, allowing students to meet new people and make friends. Not only this, but students are also guaranteed to receive free stuff! For this reason, lots of businesses choose to spread their brand name with promotional merchandise.

Traditionally, all Universities will provide some kind of orientation for students at the beginning of each academic year. Universities hold these events to encourage students to make friends, before undertaking their studies. The length of this period usually depends on the University, for example, top universities tend to give their students one day to meet friends before studies are undertaken. In comparison, some universities even allow a Freshers Fortnight! The period will often include a Freshers Fair as well as a Ball and other social activities.

The Freshers Fair is the best place to get your brand noticed through merchandise and advertising. Typically, most students will attend freshers fairs simply to see what free things they can come away with. Everyone likes to receive free items, and students are no different!  Having come to the university on a low income and leaving with an average debt of £30,000, students are the most likely group to want free stuff!

A Freshers' Fair is often made up of different clubs, societies and local businesses, all of whom want students to use their services or join their clubs. The Freshers period is different from university to university, some start at the beginning of September, whilst others don't start until the beginning of October. With September now less than two weeks away, it's important that you start thinking about your promotional products as soon as possible.

At Total Merchandise, we have lots of different items dedicated to students, whether you are planning on participating in the freshers fair, or simply operate within a 'university town'. With an influx of new people to the town, you will want to make your brand known to customers, and the Freshers' period provides the perfect opportunity to do so. The customer base within a university town changes every year so you need to continue changing with the times in order to be successful.
