When considering your marketing budget for 2013, your first consideration should be on promotional merchandise. We believe that promotional merchandise is more effective than any other form of marketing.

The use of promotional merchandise is a very cost effective form of advertising. The costs are very minimal as you can pay a one off cost to purchase your products, and depending on the amount you purchase, these can last for many years. It's been reported that items like mugs and promotional bags are more likely to be kept for at least eight months than any other materials.

First of all, it's very difficult to actually create an advert which is liked. The whole purpose of adverts is that your advert needs to be bigger and better than your competitors. If it's not, then you won't stand out.

Simply paying for an advert isn't enough, you actually need to consider the design and ensure that your advert is creative and unique as well. A recent survey showed that 70% of people couldn't remember an advertising campaign they saw a year ago, but all promotional merchandise received during that time could be remembered.

Giving away promotional merchandise ensures that consumers will see your name when using your promotional products. It's general human nature to be attracted to something which is free, in tough economic times, this is even more true than ever. People are generally more likely to do business with a company if they are able to get something out of it, such as promotional merchandise.

Giving away promotional merchandise promotes goodwill and is very good for a companies image and brand. Your customers will always remember when you have done something good for them. For this reason, promotional merchandise should always be considered within marketing.
