The first week of February is the time by which we annually celebrate National Storytelling Week, and 2014 marks the 14th time in which it will be done. Events take place across schools, libraries and in various other institutes, with workshops encouraging people to take up reading, helping to emphasise the power which books can have.
What Is National Storytelling Week?
National Storytelling Week provides a time by which people of all ages and backgrounds are able to enjoy one of the simplest past times, reading and writing. Numerous different texts are now seen upon a bookshelf with a variety of genres available as well, including biographies and autobiographies. Others use Storytelling Week as an opportunity to remember memories, and some even attempt to convert their personal highlights into a piece of text. However, possibly most importantly it provides people, no matter what the age to revisit a time which they loved as a child, storytime.
The earliest examples of writing that we have available to us today, were not jotted down upon paper. Instead, they were engraved upon pieces of stone and clay, providing a basis for the extensive writing industry which exists today. An industry that has only been further enhanced by the development of publishing, which has helped to support an astronomical development in the method by which writing is now produced.

Whilst labelled National Storytelling Week, many may develop the motivation to have a go at a piece of writing themselves. With this possibility, promotional pens may prove advantageous to business, as everyone needs a utensil to put thoughts into writing. Whilst some may simply pick up the nearest pen with a bit of ink left in it, others may look to invest in a more stylish pen, or perhaps one which allows for a greater fluidity when writing. Many individuals are further motivated to take part in something should they have invested in the relevant equipment.
