How You Can Use Branded Merchandise for School Sports Days

As the school terms draw to an end, there is an influx of sports days which can be the perfect place to distribute branded giveaways. Sports days are generally held in the Summer by schools providing a chance for pupils and teachers to get out of the classroom and celebrate the end of the school year.

Sports day activities vary depending on the children's age. For example, at secondary school, it is generally field and track events whereas primary schools are more likely to settle for egg and spoon races. The children compete in each competition with the aim of winning a prize or award.

However, it's not always just about winning but recognition of taking part as well. There is much debate on whether just the winners or all children should get a prize on sports day. Some believe that only the winners should get prizes as children need to learn that failure is good whilst others believe all children should get a prize to boost confidence and improve self-esteem.

Psychologists state that rewarding children is a good idea as long as it is made clear that the award is for taking part not for winning although this again depends on the child's age. All children like some kind of reward, it could be something as small as a chocolate medal for taking part, the child will appreciate it. The prospect of running in front of a school field of people is very daunting which is why we feel that all children should be rewarded for taking part.

There are many different items you can buy to reward children for taking part from lollipops to badges to sweets. The winners of the activities should, of course, be rewarded with something a little more which is why we suggest medals and awards along with a certificate to congratulate them on their victory. The best thing about branded giveaways is that it will include your branding. A medal or award is likely to be kept by a child throughout their childhood meaning at least ten years of promotion for your business. As well as this you are giving something back to the local community by making the children happy, boosting their confidence and encouraging them with their development.

If you are a school or even a business you should be considering using branded giveaways at sports days to promote your business.
