Promotional Products to keep kids entertained

Everyone needs a break once in a while, and children are no exception which is why they are given regular half term breaks from their studies. If you operate within a reasonable distance from a school, then perhaps you should consider using promotional products to raise awareness of your company at half term.

The English school year runs from September to mid July, with Scotland operating slightly different term dates. The Scottish school year will generally start in the third week of August, running through until the end of June. The reason for this being that the two countries have different education systems and examination boards, meaning the holidays have to be different to fit around this.

Most schools in England operate a three term year with each term divided into two with a short break in the middle, known as 'half term'. As well as this, the three terms are also split with longer holiday breaks in between, including the summer holidays. The school holidays affects everyone even if you don't have children of school age.

One way in which you are likely to be affected is through school traffic. School times have a big effect on road traffic, particularly at the beginning and end of the school day. Many other countries have state run transport for children, however in the UK, it is down to each individual family to transport their child to school.

The school year also affects the tourism industry, directly leading to an increase in prices for holidays. It is often the case that holidays are much more expensive during the school holidays due to a higher demand. Tourism companies monitor school term dates carefully and set their prices accordingly.

Many parents become stressed with school holidays. Just because their child is on holiday, it doesn't mean that they are able to take the time off. This means seeking relevant childcare or attempting to get the time off of work in order to look after their restless children. Promotional products can help parents just a little bit, helping them to keep their little ones occupied.

Whatever industry you work in, you can use the upcoming school half term to your advantage. The school half term falls over Halloween which gives you another theme to concentrate your products on. Have a look at the promotional products on our website for some inspiration for products to use over the school half term.
