Traditionally Valentines Day is on February 14th as this is usually the day that spring begins, and the day that birds choose their mates. In some parts of the world Valentine's day is also known as 'Birds day' and 'Wedding Day'. How much! People in the UK spend millions on cards, flowers and other gifts for this day. Traditionally these gifts were sent anonymously, but nowadays we often like to make it clear who is sending each 'Valentine'.
Valentine's Day has always been a big occasion, which is why so many businesses try to jump on the 'Valentine's Day wagon'...
