Choosing the Right Promotional Merchandise and When to Give Them Out

If you consider which promotional merchandise and/or printed giveaways to give out and when you could potentially increase the customer value. For example the kids are off school now until September, it seems ages away, however, September isn’t that far away. Back to school items seem to be in stores as soon as the kids break up.

So why should promotional giveaways be any different? The best selling printed Giveaways for August and September time is promotional pens, calculators, rulers, staplers and of course dinner lunch boxes. These are all very handy, back to school related printed giveaways.

So if you’re heading out to promote a company name, logo or product consider what time of year it is, in this case, we’re looking ahead focusing on September, the back to school time of year. Printed giveaways always go down better if they relate to the season or a special event that is coming up soon. This is because seasonal related printed giveaways are usually more useful to the customer.

Also ensure you give out printed giveaways at the right time of year, i.e. don’t give out Christmas themed printed giveaways in the summertime, as no one likes to be reminded that Christmas is just around the corner after coming back off holiday. Considering your target market as well also plays a big part it the type of printed giveaways you hand out.

Jumping ahead to September time, the kids are going back to school, and they need a lot of new stationery for when they go back to school. So by handing out promotional pens, pencils, rulers and any other school related stationery, will play a part in helping the parents out by equipping the kids with their back to school stationery. Back to school related printed giveaways, with a company name, logo or product on will be appreciated by the kids as they can use them at school.

These printed giveaways could also potentially get the company bonus points from the parents, as they now won’t have to rush around and find loads of back to school stationery for their children. By having the company logo, name or product on the printed giveaways, you will enable the kids to promote the company to everyone at school. Perfect if your target market is of a younger generation or the teaching industry.

However if your target market isn’t of a younger generation then promotional pens, pencils etc are not just used by the kids. The older generation (the parents) could also use these promotional giveaways at work or just to keep in their bags for those desperate times when they're in need of a pen.
