This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced data analyst to join an industry-leading team based in Colchester, Essex.

The time is right for us to create our first dedicated data-centric role, and your insights will be critical for allowing us to make the informed decisions that will keep our business evolving.

The ideal candidate will be able to turn complex data across multiple sources into invaluable insights. As well as extracting, analysing and converting data, you’ll also be able to present it in a digestible way via dashboards and reports. You’ll be able to identify trends and anomalies, and will work with stakeholders across the company to ascertain potential future opportunities.

With a background that lies in data analysis and a sharp, technical mind, you won’t be daunted by the breadth and depth of our data pool, and will instead be hungry to dive straight in.

Working with departments and stakeholders across the business, duties will include…

  • Undertaking data extraction and analysis across multiple large data sets, including from MySQL, Elasticsearch, and AWS Aurora databases.
  • Converting complex data into analytical reports and dashboards that stakeholders across the business can easily interpret
  • Working with the software development team to design database schemas to facilitate effective reporting
  • Enhancing and improving existing data reports to assist with analysis and decision making
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the company to understand their data requirements and ascertain gaps
  • Producing ad-hoc reports and analyses as and when requested
  • Communicating findings via presentations and regular reporting to relevant to assist with decision-making and project planning

The right candidate will ideally…

  • Have a proven background in data analysis
  • Have strong proficiency with at least one data analytics or data visualisation tool
  • Have strong professional experience with and a deep knowledge of MySQL or other SQL ecosystems
  • Have a solid understanding of data visualisation concepts
  • Have an analytical outlook and approach to problem-solving
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a strong working knowledge of data practices and principles
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Be confident collaborating with colleagues across the business
