These eco-friendly cups and sticks are made from d2w plastic. dw2 plastic looks and feels just like ordinary plastic and can be recycled like normal - but here's the magical part. If dw2 ends up in a general waste or, even worse, is released into the open environment, the cup and stick will degrade and biodegrade! d2w accelerates the natural process of oxidation until the product is no longer plastic and instead becomes a material which can be bio-assimilated by bacteria and fungi. 

d2w plastic biodegrades naturally, in the same way a leaf would. Leaving behind no toxic residues or fragments means there are no microplastics. d2w oxo-biodegradable (controlled-life) plastic additive has been awarded an internationally recognised Eco-label.

It's also worth noting that latex balloons are 100% biodegradable and manufactured from natural rubber using an environmentally safe method that does not harm trees. The meaning? You can safely decorate your event without any detrimental impact on the planet.

The degradation process begins as soon as the printed balloons are inflated and this is accelerated once they are exposed to light. The length of the degradation process varies according to exposure to UV light but, accordingly to scientific research, the length of the process is roughly the same as a leaf from an oak tree under similar environmental conditions.
